How much does Laser Tattoo Removal Cost?
It is hard to give a firm price for Laser Tattoo Removal because the total cost of removal is based on the price per session (which usually depends on the size of the tattoo) and the total number of sessions required to remove the tattoo to the customer’s satisfaction. (Some clients are happy with 50% clearance so they can get a coverup, while other clients want 100% clearance.)
Pricing for each session is based on size and is listed on our Pricing page. However, because tattoos are an artistic endeavor, they are not standardized, with some tattoo artists using different types of ink, different ink density, different colors, etc. Generally the more ink, the longer it will take to remove a tattoo. Deep blues and greens take longer than black. Inks with higher metal content (such as those done in Japan and other foreign countries) will take longer. Also, different clients respond differently to treatment. The body’s immune system is responsible for removing the ink particles and some clients have more aggressive immune reactions. Tattoos closer to the heart are easier to remove than tattoos on the extremities.
However, the biggest determination of how long it will take to remove a tattoo is the laser technology. Q-switch lasers take longer because they are less effective at transferring energy to the ink and causing it to break up. Renew Laser invested in a state-of-the-art Picosecond laser to deliver the most effective laser tattoo removal service to our clients. While our per session pricing is comparable to other providers, we generally clear tattoos in HALF the number of treatments of q-switched lasers, resulting in HALF the cost of tattoo removal.
