How does the laser remove a tattoo?

The laser doesn’t actually remove the tattoo, the body’s immune system does! Actually, your body has been trying to remove the ink as soon as it was injected. Old tattoos are faded because the body has been attacking it for years, but with very little success. Our Pico laser uses heat and acoustic vibration to shatter the ink particles into smaller pieces to allow the body to more easily remove the ink. As a comparison, we like to say the old Q-switch lasers can break rocks (ink molecules) into pebbles, and our state-of-the-art Pico laser turns the pebbles into sand!
